Last Coordinate
A winding channel cuts through the composition — neither purely geometric nor purely organic, but a threshold between order and chaos. Above, dense topographic texture seethes with complexity; below, parallel lines suggest organized structure. The channel itself marks the boundary where one logic gives way to another.
This is the boundary between mapping and unmapping. On one side the world still makes sense; on the other, complexity begins to resist description.
Last Coordinate captures the moment of final demarcation — where measurement and order can still hold, before the territory refuses all language.
The eight works of Erosion begin where Igneous ends — at rupture — and follow matter as it disperses. Last Coordinate marks the final boundary where the world still makes sense, before dissolution begins in earnest.
Last Coordinate is part of Cartography of Collapse, a series of 16 original ink drawings on paper (2026) tracing geological transformation from formation through dissolution. Created in a single session without revision — the irreversible line mirroring the irreversibility of geological processes.
Each drawing is improvised, capturing moments in matter’s transformation across deep time. The series moves in two acts: Igneous (formation, density, compression) and Erosion (dissolution, dispersal, return to void).
