STEPS AHEAD

STEPS AHEAD — Professionalisation of Junior Coaches in Performing Arts and Media was a European project funded by the European Commission’s Lifelong Learning Programme (Grundtvig action, October 2012 – September 2014). Led by the ROOTS & ROUTES network, it aimed to share peer-education practices across member organisations in performing arts and media, developing the ROOTS & ROUTES Junior Coach Curriculum and extending it to new countries and labour market contexts.

J3ZZ participated as a coach across two sessions hosted by Associazione Fabbrica Europa and COSPE in Florence: the Summer Academy (September 2013) and the Intensive Academy (March 2014). Florence activities also included further training (May 2014) and a testing zone (July 2014).

The coaching covered group dynamics and entrepreneurship, as well as the development of creative processes through hands-on musical and acoustic experimentation. J3ZZ prepared and implemented activities designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to lead and facilitate their own artistic and educational projects. The project closed with an international conference in Rotterdam (September 2014, joint with sister project U-CARE).
